DoB: Jun 19, 1971

PoB: Laredo, Spain

Position: Winger

Clubs represented: Laredo, Valladolid, Lleida, Real Madrid, Racing Santander, Deportivo La Coruña, Espanyol

Total appearances/goals: 381/57

Total caps: 15/1

Honours:
2 domestic league titles, 1 domestic cup, 3 domestic supercups, 1 minor league title
1 UEFA Champions League, 1 Intercontinental Cup
Olympic Gold Medal: 92

Spanish footballer of the year: 95

Highs:
Had his most high profile stint with Real Madrid in 95, following his signing, in which team broke a 4 year stranglehold from rivals Barcelona, partnering up with Ivan Zamorano ahead of veteran Butragueño and youngster Raúl. He would see that rise in Real Madrid dominance up until to the 98 CL final, but he wasn't a regular by then.
Was still playing regularly in the Deportivo side that finished runner-up in 02.

Lows:
Never had any sort of impact in the national team, and was never called up for an international tournament.
Endured relegation while at Racing Santander.
Below par goal average for an attacking player, with only 13 in 113 games for Real Madrid and 3 in 51 for Deportivo, arguably the finest sides he played for.
